[alice_abernathy]

After a quick shower Alice regretfully puts on the same clothes that she wore yesterday. Later, she plans on sneaking back into the hotel and getting some clothes, hopefully he won’t be there. She runs her hands through her wet hair then straightens up the bathroom, wiping the drops of water off of the floor then throwing the towels and wash rags in the hamper. Once she’s all done she takes a quick look around and nods once. Everything looks okay. She’s still not sure how she got here exactly but then again a lot of things from the past few days are fuzzy. But that’s all beside the point, there’s no need to be a slob and take advantage of the hospitality she’s been offered.

Me and the bathroom are c-lean! Okay, here’s the plan, go back to my… the room and tidy that up too then hunt up some food before I start gnawing on a door frame or something.

She practically tip toes back to the room, it’s not that she’s afraid of anybody catching her; it’s more along the lines that she doesn’t want to disturb anybody. Her stomach starts growling as she makes the bed and that makes her work faster. She feels like she could take on the worlds but she’s ravenous! She smoothes the wrinkles out of the bed covers than heads back out into the hallway and down the stairs. She vaguely remembers that she was in a kitchen once and she’s pretty sure it’s still there.

He smiles and bows.

"Thank you"

"He certainly is. Breakfast hero, and nightmare slayer." Leela smiles at him, waves his hands away. "Matthew, I can do the coffee - would you get me some mellon and raspberries with cream for breakfast? You know me, can't eat cooked foods after a healing."

Matthew backs off and nods.

"Of course mistress, as you wish" he sets about getting her simple breakfast and places it on the table

"And you, Matthew? What would you like for breakfast? You know, one of these days I am going to command you to sit down and tell me what you want to eat - make you to relax while I'm cooking it for you. I'll even serve it to you, just to see the look on your face."

Sitting down in the sunroom where he'd placed her breakfast Leela starts giggling. "Come on Alice, breakfast time! Here, you can share some of mine if you'd like Matthew - or did you make yourself something?

He laughs.

"Well if it were a command I'd have no choice" He smiles.

"I ate already this morning mistress, before I began cleaning. Thank you"

He finishes cooking Alice's breakfast and places her plate across from Leela's

Alice's eyes get huge when he sets her plate in front of her.

"Thank you! It looks delicious. Yeah, my hero."

"You're entirely welcome. Please, enjoy"

Alice licks her lips as she picks up her fork. The pancakes look just the same as the ones her grandma made! She glances up at him for a second before digging in.

"No thank you... really."

He grins and nods. Standing by the table in case either lady should need anything.

Leela looks up at him and sighs. No matter how many times she's told him to sit with them and relax; he would always be up and waiting on them the next mealtime. She shakes her head and scrunches her nose at him, then giggles and takes another sip of coffee.

He shrugs helplessly. He's loved the time he's spent with his new mistress and wants to do nothing but serve her.

She glances around, then picks up her coffee mug, slirps the last of it.

"Matthew, would you mind?" Holding out the empty mug. "I'd love some more, please."

Matthew takes her mug.

"I'd be delighted Mistress" He leaves the room and comes back a few minutes later with a fresh cup, brining the carafe in case they want more. He sets the cup in front of her.

"Your coffee"

Reaching out, she takes his hand before he pulls away, and kisses the back of it lightly. "Thank you Matthew" She lets his hand go, picks up the mug.

"Thank you so much."

He's a little surprised and he smiles softly.

"You're very welcome."

Alice follows behind the other woman and tries hard not to ogle the the sun room but damn! She gives herself a little shake then sits down on one of the couches. What happened to the calm cool woman who faced down zombie dogs because obviously she's not here. She chuckles softly to herself than smiles over at Leela.

"You know I think breakfast is the greatest word in any language... and hey if you do that I'll take the pictures."

"I dunno, I think that it's tied with the word sleep. Yea, breakfast and sleep. Oh yea, we must not forget the word chocolate either."

Leela concentrated on scooping out the melon, then eats a spoon full of raspberries and cream. "I'm glad you're here, Alice. Matthew knows so much about cooking but all I generally eat is simple stuff. He's been dying to actually cook and create. something special."

Alice looks over and shrugs.

"Then I'll make sure to tax the virus alot because whenever I over do, I get ravenous. I'll be glad to think of several things he could make." She pauses and takes a bite, reminding herself that chewing is nessecary. She swallows than smiles brightly. "I'm glad I'm here too, been a long time since I've had a friend not connected to Umbrella."

"If I'm not being too nosy, Alice? How does one tax a virus? Not being a smartass, but I really have no clue what you mean by that." Leela pauses between bites.

"And what's wrong with umbrellas? I love the weather, but even I don't like to be rained on all the time."

Alice takes another quick bite before answering.

"Don't be silly! After all you've done for me, hell you couldn't be too nosey. Anyway, if I'm like fighting a lot or... if I've hurt myself really badly the virus they injected into me has to work overtime to repair the damage and keep me going." She shrugs a little. "At least that's what I think happens. But Umbrella's the name of the company I used to work for. Publicly they produced computers, medical technology, etc."

Leela listens without commenting. "Hmm.. closest thing you're gonna get to fighting here is hunting. But I do that about every week for fresh vesison or hare. Matthew would do it for me but I put my foot down. I LIKE hunting. And we always use the meat, and sell the hides to leather merchants."

"Unless you're thinking of going out and getting hurt. But it doesn't sound like a fun thing to do for fun and chuckles." She put down her spoon, took another sip of coffee.

"Hmmm, there's a story there, I think. Publicly, huh? And what did they do away from the eyes of the public?"

Alice perks up a little. Hunting... now there's an idea she's never considered and it would certainly help with the whole heightened killer instinct thing Cain babbled on about.

"I... that sounds interesting, hunting I mean. And no I never intend to get hurt but... it seems to happen." She smiles trying to reassure her. "And to answer your question, privately Umbrella was working on making secret bio-weapons for the miltary."

Hunting is good, and we could always use the fresh meat. This area has a lot of dear, some moose too. Alot of turkey, some partridge, a few black bears, stuff like that. "

"All I ask is that you not shoot at the wolves or the leopards that you might see. They are - friends of mine, or at least they could be."

Alice's mind automaically flashes to the night at the bar when she metions leopards. She gives herself a brief shake then nods.

"You have my word that I won't shoot wolves or leopards, in fact I might just try stalking some animals first. Just to see if I can. I've uhhhh never actually been hunting animals before."
