Alice's intro

In a previous lifetime, literally, Alice was a security operative working for a multi-national corporation. Along with another agent, she was in charge of guarding one of the entrances to a large underground facility. It was a very boring, but very prestigious, position. Her main duties were to keep curious Raccoon City residents from nosing around the mansion and make sure nothing went wrong in the Hive. Boring.

She’d heard rumors that the experiments being conducted in the laboratories weren’t exactly legal and at first she didn’t pay much attention to the gossip. It was too outlandish; viruses that brought people and animals back to life then turned them into monsters. That kind of stuff only happened in horror movies, not in real life. But soon she saw for herself that the rumors weren’t rumors and everything she’d heard was the truth.

She tried to ignore what was going on but her conscience started to bother her as the questions mounted. Not long after she decided to expose the community she was approached by one of the people working within the Hive. The woman, Lisa, tried to be sneaky about it but it didn’t take long for Alice to discover that she wanted to show the rest of the world what was going on right beneath their noses. She agreed to help for a price, Lisa had to use the information she provided to bring the Company down. Everything was going as she planned until… she woke up in the shower with no idea who she was.

Long story short, there had been an incident and everybody in the Hive was dead. The virus had escaped and the computer in charge of the facility sealed the labs. So the Company sent in an elite commando unit to see what went wrong… big mistake. Only Alice and one other, a civilian who had broken in to the mansion before the team arrived -- Matt -- survived. Not that surviving was such a good thing. They were captured and separated as soon as they tried to leave the mansion. The Umbrella Company took Matt even as she struggled and fought to get to him but there were too many of them. They took him and drugged her. The last thing she heard before succumbing to the drugs was that they wanted to re-open the Hive. Another big mistake.

The next part of her story is a bit more complicated and she doesn’t like to talk about it. She might go into more detail if somebody asked but the basic facts are, she met a man who said he was from the future, discovered that Umbrella had been experimenting on her and she fought a huge monster that turned out to be Matt. But most importantly, at least to her, is that she helped a small group of people escape a dying city. And she died in the process.

But like all good viral-enhanced freaks, Alice didn’t stay dead. The group of people she had managed to save ended up saving her. She stayed with them for about a week than decided that it would be better for everybody if she wasn’t there. So she left. She took nothing but a small backpack full of clothes and her cat, which promptly ran away at the first motel she stayed in. Now she’s trying to find him and stay two steps ahead of both of the companies and whoever else might be looking for her.
